Washington County students now have an incredible opportunity to pursue their dreams.  Each and every student, beginning in the ninth grade, can earn points that can be converted into money upon graduation from Chipley High School or Vernon High School and acceptance at a post-secondary institution of the student’s choice.

June 2 – Yard Sale

The WCST will be having a yard sale on Saturday, June 2, 2007.  Check back for more information.

 

October 13 – Tractor Pull 

The Sixth Annual Pulling for Education Holmes Valley Heritage Day has been scheduled for Saturday, October 13.  Make plans to come out and enjoy the day.  There will be antique tractors, horse shoe tossing, demonstrations, a tractor parade, lots of vendors and plenty of food.  Mark your calendar for October 13 – a great time for the whole family!  For more information, click here.

Suggestions for Community Service Activities

·        Remember, 5 hours must be devoted directly to WCST activities (ticket sales, Tractor Pull, etc.)

·        Volunteer to work with your local public library

·        Volunteer to help your local historical society

·        Work with Teen Court

·        Work with the Sheriff’s Department Explorers

·        Volunteer at a local nursing home, hospital, etc.

·        Volunteer to help an elderly neighbor by mowing the lawn, raking leaves, etc.

·        Volunteer to work at the Relay for Life

·        Participate in club and organization activities

Flock Your Friends     

 

Have you ever tried to figure something different to do for a friend?

 

Well, you have just been given the answer.

 

Flock your friend! The Washington County Scholarship Trust Committee is sponsoring this fundraiser. All proceeds go toward scholarships for Chipley High School and Vernon High School graduates.

 

Cost

$35 to flock anyone in Washington County

$50 to flock anyone outside of Washington

County (within reason)

 

Set-up

The flock migrates to your choice of locations for 4 days (unless your friend chooses to pay $10 to have them moved early!)

Must have 3 days notice for birthdays or anniversaries

In 2001 WCST gave 17 scholarships.

In 2002 WCST gave 21 scholarships.

In 2003 WCST gave 18 scholarships.

In 2004 WCST gave 29 scholarships.

In 2005 WCST gave 25 scholarships.

In 2006 WCST gave 33 scholarships.

In seven years, WCST has given away over $32,000!
